My practice has been interdisciplinary – using video, performance to camera, drawing, painting, sculpture and sculptural installations – since graduating from Goldsmiths in 1998. I am interested in figuration and this thread runs through most of what I make. My latest work comprises large-scale room installations that are almost always site-specific and informed by current experiences and political events. I have been a supporter of the green movement from my teens, and subjects related to this resurface often in my work.
I have lived and worked between the UK and Germany as an artist for the past two decades, and have initiated and curated many diverse art projects in both countries, such as the first Monat Kunst Halberstadt Biennial. I have presented my work widely, including recently in London at the German Embassy, the Southbank Centre and the Victoria and Albert Museum. I took part in the Press Room project at the 56th Venice Biennale as an Artist-Investigator. My work is represented in public and private collections around the world; most recently by the Barheine-Stiftung and the German Foreign Office in London.
